Peripheral

I never asked for redemption

A temporary fix for possession

But I'm blessed to be obsessed

By such a fatal attraction

A double edged sword

Carving the way

For reason and insanity

To be diluted

So no one can tell

If this world is real

Or if a fragment of truth

Was built on these lies

We've based our entire lives upon

As the soldiers give in

And the devils give up

As angels have fallen

And the sirens had enough

Of their sea of depression

We are left with nothing

The whispers echo off the walls

Masking the source

When I fail to find the darkness

The scars are forced by the words

Devoted to corruption

Or coerced by your convictions

It's hard to imagine a world without problems

But I know our deaths would solve more than one

We place the familiar noose around our necks

All in silence

And turn off the lights behind us

In compliance
