Struggle

I am driven by fear

Derived from our minds

I tried to hide

My broken soul and my shattered dreams

The mold is wearing thin

Elastic

Plastic

Rubberbanding back and forth

Pull and tear until we're both hurt

Even as waves crash against the shore

Slowly withers the surface

Like fucking clockwork

As a means to an end

We take pleasure as pain

We take pleasure as pain

I

I tried to swim to the surface

But the riptide is holding me down

I

Don't want to fight anymore

I've been fighting ever since I was born

Everyone

has been fighting since they were born - so this poem has universal elements. You just say it plainly - which is nice - slc
