Every misconstrued notion
Created by ill intentions
Devour the hours passed in exile
I lose myself from time to time
Forget to breathe
Wake up choking
Was I miscreated?
Every minute feels like a prison sentence
Silence causes misery
I feel like I'm wasting away like memories
The unliving and timeless distortions
Aborting fragments of my sanity
Wracking my mind again and again
Fades like glass and sand in oceans' current
Some pieces may wash ashore
But I'll never be whole anymore
I close my eyes just to forget
The nightmares of my reality
I know people have it worse
But these illusions of grandeur
Destroy my grasp on this world
If you've ever lived
Not knowing who you are
Forgetting your name and your past
Sometimes days at a time
Then you know my pain
Then you know how faded I've become

Enjoyed this little piece of introspection. I think we all lose ourselves from time to time. The more you think, the more it happens. But sometimes a few pieces of driftwood do wash back. And that's a good time to light a bonfire – and fight off the darkness awhile.
