Between Two Worlds

Folder:
Songs

This world is all I know

Devils flicker with the lights

Casting shadows on the walls

Fading out to an astral plane

Every time I close my eyes

One step further in my grave

These scars are the only solace

I have to prove I'm still alive

Constantly searing my own flesh

To escape the icy grip of death

Stuck in a crevice of time

Pieces once lost slowly recombine

Blistering sun molds the rest

In defiance of the laws of progress

Standing on the edge

Darkness breathing down my neck

I fear

I fear the angel on my shoulder

Is just another liar

Convincing me its better

To just surrender and fall

The devil on my back

Seems to understand

He knows the torment of the abyss

There's fear

There's fear in his eyes

He knows its better to lie

Than to accept suicide

Author's Notes/Comments:

I combined a couple of related poems to make this into a song and removed the duplicates.

Very sombre and serious messaging in this piece of wrk you have created. Who or what is not a lie, some people woulld argue the point to our very own existance on this planet was just an illusion and a lie. I for one think they are wrong, I think you can die of your lies you tell, when the circumstances are correct. Nice rea makes the reader think and ponder.

Thank you for reading! I

Thank you for reading! I agree with you, once you tell so many lies and are accustomed to it, it changes you.  You may not notice it, but everyone around you will. You're aura changes color and shape and its hard to go back to the way things were.

Hey!

Good and evil as angels and devils are symbols for thoughts and decisions. Alter the process, make better decisions and the world will change - I know. Done it before, several times. Being a human is mostly trial and error - because we don't trust the wisdom we meet. I'm jus sayin' ~allets~

Hey, not sure how you

Hey, not sure how you interpreted the song so I'm afraid I don't understand much of what you're saying. I think I'm pretty impartial when it comes to "good" and "evil" and I don't see any reason to be on either extremity. Thank you for reading!
