Serenity

SERENITY

When I put my foot down, will the earth be there?

I find myself concerned that when I breath, there’ll be no air.

The things that others can assume, for me I do not dare,

Stability is a luxury, which I simply cannot share.

The world turns not around me, of this I am quite sure,

If it did, I do suspect I never could endure

The pain I feel in hoping for my spiritual cure,

And yet in hope my heart is set, upon God’s golden lure.

I cannot change what’s done and gone, it’s set in stone alway,

The future looms unknowable, I dare not look beyond today,

Today’s a gift on loan from God, on this I have a say,

God grant me the serenity to redeem this time I pray.

Another early peace.

Simple in form, proabbly too simple, but the message was meaningful to me at the time.
