Paradox

PARADOX

I once knew a lonely man

who had a pair o’ docks.

He’d take his boat upon the lake,

and enter in the locks.

He’d wait there while the water drained

and see the level fall,

leave the locks and find that he had

traveled not at all.

Then he’d guide his boat back home

and blame it on his piers,

lock the door, turn out the light

and tremble with his fears.

Author's Notes/Comments:

An early poem but one of my better early ones.

Lot of word plays here that I think work.
