I'm Puzzled

I’m Puzzled

The jigsaw sits unfinished

just where you left it.

The edges framed the way you always

tended to do things.

The pieces grouped by shape and color

still waiting for you.

the moment still haunts me

emotion still daunts me

my sad life still taunts me

retaking those jaunts we

took only together

So to know I’ll never embrace you

without jaws of life.

So to see the remaining pieces,

scattered in order.

So too many interlocking parts,

that have gone with you.

Author's Notes/Comments:

An early poem with an assumed voice of what it would be like to lose a loved one in a car accident.
