And the Beat Goes On
neon light
burns till
morning nights its
syncopate pulse
plays way to
metronome day
weight shift
change pace
steady beat
same place
every picture
tells a story
fabricates glory
told well
holds hell
told true
holds you
fast

Author's Notes/Comments:
Just an exercise in attempting to use short lines. I tried to create a word sense of a metronome without necessarily keeping perfect meter. In music you can speed up and slow down the notes with the same beat. It's not as easy to do in poetry, but such as it is, this is my attempt to do the same.

You said it, brother, and oh, so well.
