I falter,
When all hope fades into darkness
Just one heavy breath away from tears.
All that has been forgiven in me,
Chases me, like leaves falling,
Chase the wind that set them free.
A churning tide of memories
has become a filter for reality.
I falter,
When the ache of time ill spent,
Sorrows me,
In the tick of a second
mortality is blindingly apparent to me.
For each and every moment that passes,
I too pass into that silent surrender,
That all men face.
I falter,
Under the lucid moon
Utterly alone,
As we all are
When death pries us from the light.
I know mortality better than life
with every beat I beg
for another moment
to seek the light,
that only in death i will find.
