On Sunday, January 9th, 1994, I became a Christian, and was baptized a week later. On Saturday, April 19th, 2014, I was chrismated into the Orthodox Faith.

My screen name, Coerulescent, has been inspired primarily by the spiritual metaphor of the Doppler effect's blue shift interpreted through my favorite Scriptures---Revelation 22:16 (foremost), Matthew 2:2, John 12:32, 2 Peter 1:19, and Sirach 43:9-10. Coerulescent succeeds my original handle, Starwatcher, to which I was led with the help of my first Beloved, BlueShift, on Saturday, July 10th, 1976. The handle held me together during my first term at college, Thursday, September 9th through Tuesday, November 23rd, 1976; and during each term through graduation (BA, History) in 1980. And thus, with our Holy Father, the all-venerable and blest John Chrysostrom; and with the venerable hieromartyr, Metropolitan Benjamin of Petrograd and Gdov, I cross myself and say, gratefully, "Glory to God for all things!"

Constantine Cavafy's poem, "Very Seldom," describes my situation, and my hope for my Ad Astra poems.

My Haigo (or Haiku name), Kyakuchuu, means "footnote" in Japanese.*

Several Poets (of prose or verse) used one main pen name, and several subsidiary pen names. I mention Stendhal and Chekov among others. In my case, going forward, Coerulescent is the main screen/pen name or handle, and Starward and Kykuchuu are subsidiary to it.
