How Pretty Am I?

Paste on my make up,

Wearing my mask,

How pretty am I?

Concealing my past.

Concealing my fears and my concerns,

Trying to be happy and cover up my burns.

My glossy smile hides my tired frown,

My eyeliner holds the tears in, keeps them down.

My blusher makes me look already embarrassed,

So when I trip and fall down, down, down,

Nobody sees my pain.

You don't see.

And you don't even care.

But I'll paint on this smile,

Just so you can stare.

So tomorrow I'll paste on my make up,

And I'll touch-up my mask,

How pretty am I?

Concealing my past.
