the "I AM" poem; 6th grade

I am a short girl with a passion for cows

I wonder if I'll see the light of day tomorrow

I hear the singing of the wind, soft and calm

I see the core of the enemies' plans in my nightmares

I want to reach to the sky and touch the stars

But I am just a short girl with a passion for cows

I pretend that I am larger than life

I feel the gentle breeze comb through my soul

I touch the suns bright, golden flames

I worry about the tiny people below

I am just a short girl with a passion for cows

I understand that someday we shall all die

I say that life wont last forever

I try to tell others to love one another

I hope one day I'll be prepared for what's in store

I am just a short girl with a passion for cows

Author's Notes/Comments:

Its wonderful! I love the "I Am" poem. My daughter had to do it for an English assignment in middle school a long time ago, and after that I wrote many I Am poems. They are always revealing and always fun.
