Can you categories pain

Can you file it in a cabinet

Manila folders put to a name

With our lives put inside it

Is there someone who will review me

And compare me to another

Could they ensure me it’s not that bad

Or could they try to make it better

It’s a competition we engage in

Without even knowing

We’d be complacent without improvement

If there was no failure showing

But instead of competing for success

We choose to compare our distress

It’s a very handy excuse

At someone else’s expense
