where's the emotion

My Son has died, is it real?

OD'd, intentional or accidental, I've no idea

What do I see? Where are my emotions hiding?, Why am I not breaking down? I've no idea

I love you, I despair of you... but you're not here, or is it real?

For your girlfriends, the mothers of your children, it's real
For your Sister, Mother, Grandparents, friends, it's real

For me, your Father... I expect to see you, out of the corner of my eye
which is dry but, shouldn't be, maybe... is it real?

Author's Notes/Comments:

I know it's not poetry... it's just me, in the raw

Hi,
Emotions are tough masters... sometimes a bit like a long distance, telephone relationship with someone you've never met. You don't have a picture of them, don't know how they react, respond, to the things you say or do. You don't know their shape or character because... sometimes, your own emotions are alien to you, especially when you're hurting - and there's a journey without a compass
