Choosing sides.

Dark leaves cover the path,

a light wind blows her hair back,

gnarled roots from many years wrath,

lost the love of God from the years past.

Walking slowly to understand the darkness,

feeling secure with what light but coldness,

blocking out all love for fear of light,

holding a heart from who's body frosted with ice.

100 miles to walk with bare toes,

thorns stick up and tear the flesh,

blood drips from the tear and doesn't heal,

when will you start over and make fresh.

God never leaves but goes to think he left,

sitting on the ground shivering and alone,

picking on what bread but what you left with hatred,

gurgling streams no where to be heard or seen.

God waits and waits for the girl to cry,

giving her no mercy but what she wants,

she screams and screams to be heard why,

God won't join you until you let him in your heart.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem is about me.... I turned my back on every one even God, and found him again and the ones I lost.

:)

Thanks. I've struggled with God before.. Losing a brother drove me away from him.. but

I understand now what I must believe in even that it happened.
