Feast of St. Joseph

St. Patrick’s day is over, but today

It is St. Joseph  that that the faithful pray.

The foster father that we pay tribute

So self-effacing, faithful, humble, good..

This foster father that held tenderly

His little darling, Jesus on his knee

It was from him that Jesus soon would learn

To ply his trade and different woods discern

Mel Gibson show the table on a slide,

Where Jesus toiled, - his mother by His side.

St, Joseph, man of love and hope and faith,

Protector of- the virgin full of grace.

St. Joseph, alike us,  - in ignorance

And silence worked and knew not of God’s plans,

While love and warmth overflowed his generous soul

In darkness he lived out his earthly rًle

In hope  and   trust and full abandonment,

Although he knew not what the Lord had planned,

His  Life, In humble service unsurpassed

Was firmly grounded in deep faith and trust.

St. Joseph when our journey is complete

Stay by,  so that we may be comforted,

Dear Patron of the passing  - guide and lead

Us to your   darling Foster Son  we plead.

This is wonderful. I think it is amazing how you speak of God in all your works one way or another, how in this poem you speak of St.Joseph for instance, you are a great witness of Gods love.

Love in Christ,
Marjorie
