Hail glorious Father Teilhard de Chardin!
Beacon and champion of all prophesy,
Your vision, so inspired will prevail That upwards rises corporeity.
Your so prophetic vision,- vast in scope-
Wields bigger sway than prophesies of doom,
To him belongs the world that extends hope
And can stare down dread prophesies of gloom.
All things that rise, they likewise must converge
And all creation groans in throes of birth.
But like a river let the Spirit surge
To nourish inert matter in its dearth.
The Christ will speak to every galaxy,
And as the Cosmic Logos penetrate,-
Reveal the ultimate sacrality,-
When nature too will bow and contemplate
Our proud agnostic scientists, - they too,-
Admit they understand for the first time
Faith’s tenets, as interpreted by you
A vision so exalted and sublime!.
Oh Father, you say human history
Is but as negligible episode
Compared to planetary life, or galaxy
Evolving fast, but hankering for God.
That all creation cannot help but strive
To lift up in a mass the human tide,
To unified exalted spirit life,
That by this confluence beatified
Will draw into OMEGA’s blessed light
