Christmas in War Time

Troops are fighting hard and sad it is

In our cities and in many a home

Where people grieve and mourn and deeply miss

A loved one and life turned  so wearisome.

War is raging and young blood is spilled,

And fierce fighting takes its fearful course;

Overseas are fine young soldiers killed,

For the evil fiend knows  no remorse.

But this child smiles tenderly and sweet,

And speaks: "Darling be not so depressed;-

I AM  He  that does your loved ones meet;-

All that love find in my arms sweet rest.!"

“Each of you is unique unto me

Precious,-  whether sleeping or awake-

Says the Lord,- and I hear every plea-

None is lost, and non I will forsake!”

“Friends of yours I keep close to my heart,

And your loved ones are so safe in me,

From my love they can no more depart-

Nor by harm and ill detached from me”

Christ child comforts:” Do not be down-cast,

All your loved ones have a safe abode-

For my father’s mansions are so vast

Each of them a gleaming star in God.”

This should be a poem for all to see, So many have questioned, why God forsake them in this time of need.
When it is not God who forsakes us, but we forsake him when we should be calling on him.
Very beautiful poem indeed, Your heart is in your poems.
Thanks for sharing with us.

Nice tribute. Indeed He does hear our prayers and none are wasted. He is a kind and loving father to us all. Thanks for such a nice warm and heartfelt tribute. Bravehawk
