When whole or separated into pieces, they both taste the same.
I saw you once — and only once — years ago.
I won't say how much but not much.
But I can still taste the fig we once shared
when I close my eyes and dream
to watch the ripples of water

Years ago when I was driving across country from California I had to go through the desert to get to Nevada. It was during then I first tried figs as fruit seperate and in a fig shake. It was the thickest sweetest best tasting thing I ever tried and never had one since but never forgot it. I know about the heart shape you spoke of too.I love the last line of your piece it says so much in a condensed line......Excellent write!
I've never eaten a fig before. I bet that it tastes good. I don't know why I've gone through my life without ever having a taste of it before.
