The Difficult Road (Rhyme)

Folder:
Rhymes

Outside umbrella in hand

Watching endless time pass by

Alone I walk, on the road

Lonesome soul, the painted sky.

Many silent dreams were kept

'Til they dissolve to no more

Puddles thrown at my numb face

A struggling smile I wore.

Beneath the drizzling rain

Seeing the distant moon fall

Me against the world of ours

Why do I bother at all?

The midnight wind burns my eyes

Blanketed by falling tears

Appearing so far away

Don't feel good if you're not near.

Walk the land from place to place

Being stung by cold dark rain

Faltering above wet paths

You catch me to avoid pain.

Beneath the drizzling rain

To watch the shooting star call

Difficult journeys I take

Why do I bother at all?

These stored dreams were kept inside

Don't care if they're all broken

I only feel one small thing

Your sweet love was there spoken.

E'ery path I take you're there

And when you give up on me

When I turn to look behind

You're still there for me to see.

Beneath the drizzling rain

sheltering me from afar

I remember you and me

Then why should I care at all?

Author's Notes/Comments:

I know, I know.  It's off rhythm in some parts.  At least I tried!  Anyways, this poem is about the journey we must all take and the people who are there for you every step of the way.  Your family, friends, lovers, etc.
