Never read his book but to me this phrase can certainly mean the ego of animal known as man thinks it's more equal then other animals because of intellect,yet if we examine intellect think of a woodland creature who knows cunning and and wile, who knows self protection and and making up their habitat from what exists to them in the simplist of forms. Man being so smart,has yet to take that lesson...
