This yuletide season may be jubilant

for another Christmas has come

but looking back on previous bygones

of Christmas cheer I stop and remember.

A time of good spirits and laughs were shared;

gifts exchanged, warmth a suffused sentiment

circulating within.

I smile.

Chestnuts roasting on an empty fire.

This Christmas can be lonely without

you here.

A separate moment of now displaces

the then.

Yet even on another Christmas come and gone I still remember all of you...
