Do you see her
the girl in the corner
by herself?
Of course you don't
She's merely a shadow
Hoping to be seen
She watches them
The figures blinded by love
Fingers intertwined
Envoloped in body heat
She can't do anything
but just watch
Sitting there alone
Holding herself
in the cold
So insecure
She knows she'll never be
one of them
She's only a shadow
Hiding in the dark
Writing toneless songs
Sketching dreams
She's trying to feel again
Alone
Nobody's there to help
This isn't unusual
It happens everyday
She's the outcast
wondering alone
Hoping to be found
Listen to her silent tears
before they hit the ground
and the story is lost
forever
Lonely
She sits there
waiting for someone
or something
Maybe waiting for you
Why don't you notice her?
Why can't you see her?
She's fading
She's almost gone
Or maybe she already is
Bring her back to life
Help her breathe again
before she becomes invisible
and be forever a
lost shadow
I really liked this poem. I love the lines,
"Writing toneless songs
Sketching dreams"
I like what you wrote about too; being hidden, being invisible. Lots of pople feel like that at one time or another.
