It's hard not to notice the way you stare

So I wonder if you could possibly be

It never happend, we can always pretend

Ignoring the guilty shame of our bliss

And forever into unwanted shadows send

The bittersweet memory of this forbidden kiss



Can we just one night be strangers

And imagine we've never met before?

And for one languid evening ignore the dangers

Banishing our temptation, forever more?



I find I'm no longer afraid of the softness in your touch

And the frightened little girl you once knew has long since gone.
