I didn't know that my eyes could be

This wide open to the world

To the tastes and caresses of life

And the fluid motion that surrounds us

In every moment

In every lung of air



I couldn't have ever believed

That someone could find this esteem

Trampled in my soul

And helped it stand and walk

In such joy

In such new-found knowledge



I can't ever imagine conveying

The way you've unfolded my life

Into something with meaning

Made me more than happy

In search of hope

In light of ambition



I know that you care for me

Even if I'm not right for you

You remain while you can

I love you with all I have

In wanting

In acceptance
