Suppose I said - Suppose I heard

I.

Suppose I said

I am on my best behavior

And there are times

I lose my worried mind

Would you want me when I'm not myself?

Wait it out while I am someone else?

Suppose I said

Colors change for no good reason

And words will go

From poetry to prose

Would you want me when I'm not myself?

Wait it out while I am someone else?

And I, in time, will come around

I always do for you

Suppose I said

You're my saving grace?

II.

"...Having Supposed..."

Suppose I heard;

And hugged you, saying,

"I trust you're trying,

I see it  as finding

your bearings;  Life changes,

and sometimes it's hard to keep up."

Suppose I miss you

When you're feeling someone else,

But want to help you find

Whatever you're looking for?

Suppose I said,

I've smelled color,

Seen it change like the wind.

None can say what's coming,

but I'll keep you in mind, no matter.

Suppose interest;

Suppose infatuation;

Suppose intruigue;

Suppose I said,

"This I know,

  And want to know more?"

Author's Notes/Comments:

I read the first section as a poem one day; (I'm not sure who wrote it initially, but the second came to mind.)

I was really intrigued by the raw honesty in this piece. It really felt like I was part of a conversation. I also like how you kept repeating, "Would you want me when I'm not myself." It hung in the back of the piece like a shadow. Great job.
