Warm blood trickling down in the heart
Bruised by the happenings day after day
To live with a happy heart one needs to be tough
As life progresses living will become tough
Like the leaking boat in the stormy sea
But we just can't be silent and let things be
When we see a fragile human slay another
Whom he yesterday regarded as his elder brother
Gone are those happy childhood days
Minions and princes have long since parted ways
Freedom fighters have gone into history
The crumbling monuments disfigured with time
Yet we are hopeful that someone someday
Will come to the rescue and plug the leaks
Vultures now feed on poverty with their sharp beaks
Hoardings, billboards screaming products of foreign lands
When shall we break free from these artificial demands
The pizza is dominating over the humble "uthappam"
Fizzy coke has replaced the pure green coconut
The starry sky looks morosely at our plight
Day in and day out we continue to fight
Fighting with and slogging one another for our selfish needs
These are some reasons which make my heart bleed

A hamburger and coke, please. The corporations have gone global and shout loudly that eventually educators will teach that everything, everything is owned. And sold, and purchased, and recycled. Hey, where are my fries? - nice work in this one ~Lady A
