Shadows lengthening............... in the late winter afternoon
China clay lemon pickle jars .................... being sun-cooked
Tiny warm sparrows chirping hopefully waiting for sundown
Rest and sleep..... their nests cozy with sticks, hay and down
Rule for the day almost over. king sun to lay down his crown
Crown of hope, drudgery, toil, .................heated then cooled
Did the sun rise today ? ............or simply keeping us fooled ?
Day after day for countless eons he(the sun) ...rises and falls
We fools-ignorant,oblivious...................... play with the dolls
People young,old,middle-aged................ burning with desire
What moves us? drives us crazy?through the day fans our fire
Why do the beasts... ..nocturnal predators ....... stay awake ?
Sitting in warm shelters man strains ........till he has backache
Straining eyes,mind,brains......... poring over news and views
Maybe a thriller on the telly, engrossing, toxic opium in the sinews
By chance I saw a sick child in a home.......... burning with fever
He is down with jaundice........... they say an ailment of the liver
Some sin of last birth......................or simply a faulty machine ?
Why can't his parents afford proper diet............ and medicine ?
Night of modern age....................... darkness cannot hold sway
Glittering bright fluoresent lights"Man machines.... it's your day!"
Proud,vain,insane.................. strive to turn darkness into light
The cannot match the King's Light....... ever cheerful and bright
Why do the birds not chirp? .................why don't they awake?
On the other side of the globe hopeful people about to be reborn
Welcome the King's New Day...................A fresh eventful morn
