Withered Petals
********************
Lovely scarlet soft rose petals
adorning humble flower pots
For a few days they're seen
Some plucked for worship
Or for wedding garlands
Maybe some for Valentines
They do not complain
They do not weep
They don't show happiness
Then why do you cry
When they wither and shrivel
Let them be where they are
Give them a little more care
The were not meant as ware
Let them die a natural death
Why kill them without reason
Dearest Nature lovers
Give it a thought
When you hand a rose
To your loved one
[inspired by Saroj Padhi "Petals in Prayer]
This is a beautiful
This is a beautiful empathetic poem, speaking as someone who cannot pass a carelessly dropped flower without picking it up and taking it home to live out it's days in water not on a pavement. A truly lovely write.
How can I express my heartfelt thanks to you for feeling those
.. dumb scraps of nature who are abandoned on pavements... The beauty of sweetness of sweetwater reflects in your kind comments. Thank You !!
