Accident

Just an hour ago I had been to the Chemist to fetch  medicine [monthly ration of pills] for me and my wife.The owner one Chandan engaged me in an animated conversation about his opinions of a Bangladeshi writer who has published many books. She is a very renowned poetess. Unfortunately I hadn't read her Bangla stories. Chandan's assistant asked me "medicine debo?" [should I give you medicine] I smiled and replied "What else do you sell?" Jokes apart I popped the medicine into my small bag and commenced my short walk back home.The sun was warm and nice.

I was passing by a makeshift eatery when I saw an Ambassador car take a right turn in an alley.A motorcycle driven by a 30ish young man was coming alond the straight road.The car hit the motorcyclist in the rear wheel.The driver was flung onto the street sideways.I helped the man onto his feet and asked the bystanders to take the man to the chemists shop for first aid and the bike be kept locked close to the eatery. 

Such unfortunate accidents were a frequent occurance. I think the young man was lost in his thoughts and so was the car driver who was kind enough to get out of the car to help the motorcyclist.Maybe we should be a bit more careful while on the roads. Who knows waht may happen !!! These are the words which I have to share.. nothing more. Just happy that the young man was spared a fracture or an head injury. Fortunately he was wearing a helmet. I hope he gets well soon.
