Unspoken Words

Her presence fills my chest like a cloud of smoke

Taking another hit

My emotions grow

She stood in the way

The one who saved me

In eternal debt

I owe everything

If only she could see,

What she has done

Destiny drew the last card

She dealt a new hand

That night was supposed to be the last

Her words wrapped around my body

Protecting me from the blast

Her influence is why I still walk this life

After all,

She could have been my wife

I walked away to never return

Not realizing what I had left behind

Shame clouded my judgment

Regretting not telling her everything

I fear that the present is too late
