Sadness

From the shadows of the night he arose

His face carried evil in his grin,

with eyes as dark as coal.

Silence was in his voice,

Fear was at his hand,

His movement was as smooth as ice,

Earth stood still at his command.

Moore powerful then one could believe,

Faster then any man,

Could reap havoc like the devil

and burn you down where you stand.

So he made his approach

a pond helpless prey.

A little girl with tears in her eyes

from a broken heart that day.

He attempts to consume her,

but suddenly her crying cease.

She knew she must stay strong

in order to live in piece.

He backs away

unable to feast,

The more she smile,

The more he faced defeat.

The happier she got,

The more he gave up the fight.

As quick as Sadness appeared,

He disappeared back into the night.
