I held an emerald once in a dream
It did sparkle shine and gleem
It drew my gaze more intent to look
To describe such beauty I could only be miss took
To say what I saw in just one look would take a master poets book
I thought more beauty must lie deep inside
But I could not see past its irredecent shine
In this dream I was a wealthy man
Next I held spun gold in my hand
But I thought not of greed
My thoughts flowed from my soul
I thought what rare refined beauty
for me to behold
As it flowed through my fingers
sunlight danced on its edge
Overwhelmed by such beauty
I soon turned my head
Then my mouth filled with sweetness
subtle and light
like cool sping water
on a warm summer night
Then I felt a soft touch
a caress from my head to my feet
And I could feel inner peace
and a love so complete
I was emotionally filled how could one person feel anymore
Then I had a strange feeling like I dreamed this before
Then still in my slumber I knew that I had
For I once loved a girl till it near drove me mad
With the greenest green eyes and the softest silk skin
I desired so much
I shivered and quivered
was aroused at first touch
With the sweetest sweet kisses
lush golden blonde hair
her love was her beauty
and her beauty was love beyond all compare
Then as I woke from my slumber
leaving my dreams riches and beauty behind
I struggled to remember as they
slipped from my mind
then a smile crossed my lips and my face must have beamed
when I remembered both times when I felt love so complete
Once in a lifetime and once in a dream
