My first day at School.

My Teacher told me to sit still on my stool,

I am five and begin to think she is a fool.

How can a five year old sit motionless even on a stool?

I think that I do not like this my new school.

Tomorrow I will run off to the park and play.

No grown ups to spoil my nice long day.

Tomorrow again I will not go to that silly old school,

The Teacher I know is just an old fool and I hate that stool.

Joey Green has joined me to play in the park.

We played all day long until it was dark.

When the stars came to light up the sky,

We both went home with a rather loud sigh.

We went to our homes and our Mums and Dads were so mad.

We had both been very naughty and that was something very bad.

Now my Mum takes me to school and waits to see me sit on that stool.

Mum cannot see that my Teacher is an old fool.

Now every day I am escorted to my school no playing in the Park with Joey Green.

                      He now goes to another school and cannot be by me be seen.
