Angry Birds
The birds are angry a family of wild cats has come to Fairyland to stay. Cats climb trees and eat small birds; eggs too are on the cat’s menu even the wise old owl is apprehensive and is on her guard. Any cat she sees climbing the old oak tree she attacks with her sharp beak and the talons or claws on her feet. Cats love to eat mice that means less food for the owls and the night jays. I was asked to drive the cat family away. No one wanted the cats not even the Fairies. I gave the matter a lot of thought but could find no way of driving the cats out of Fairyland. I decided to ask Her Majesty for her advice. Perhaps she had an idea of how to get the cat family to move on.
Her Majesties suggestion was to get as many dogs to come into Fairyland as possible. Cats do not like dogs’ especially wild cats. Soon all kinds of delicious smells were wafting over Fairyland the Fairies felt sorry for the birds and all kinds of dog delicacies were to be found all over the Heat or Fairyland. It did not take long soon there were dogs to be seen everywhere. Many a dog found a bone with meat on it. Water from the stream gave the stray dogs plenty to drink and it was not long before the wild cats moved on. The cats too liked the meat that was left on the bones and many a fight took place between cat and dog.
Now we have another problem so many dogs are nearly wild and the mother deer have no peace for the dogs have taken to hunting the deer. Now the other wild animals are up in arms, whose silly idea was it to get stray dogs to enter Fairyland? Now there was no peace among the animals even the rabbits are complaining that the dogs are chasing them day and night. The dogs have got to go; all were agreed on this. The next question was how to get rid of the dogs. No more tasty bones were put out for the dogs and I put a call though to the animal rescue society telling them that the amount of stray dogs on the Heath were getting completely out of hand. I also told them that I was afraid that a child might be badly bitten by the stray dogs.
Soon the animal rescue society sent out their cars and vans and dog after dog was captured and taken to the large animal rescue unit. Here they stayed until someone wanted a dog. All found good homes eventually and there was another problem less here in Fairyland. I was happy to think that we are now back to the old days where there are no wild cats, no stray dogs and the birds are happy again. I now go to the clearing by the old oak and have my afternoon nap without any interference from anyone. I hope it stays this way for a long time. Bern
