Ginger Hair.
Normally Fairies are either blond or brunette but one day much to the consternation of the Fairy Nurses in the Fairy Maternity Ward a baby boy was born with ginger hair. No one could remember a baby with such hair. Many Fairies came to see the newborn baby with the ginger hair. It was a sensation and the topic of conversation for many weeks. The baby boy attended the Fairy school and I am sure that only his teachers new his real name. All the Fairy Children called him Ginger. Ginger was a normal child that learned well. He got on with all of other Fairies and was well liked.
It did not take long and most Fairies forgot that he had ginger hair they had become so used to seeing ginger playing with the other Fairies, in other words he was accepted by all. Ginger grew into a fine young Fairy. He worked well but had one problem that worried him. With his ginger hair none of the Fairy girls wanted to have anything to do with him. He was well liked but to court a ginger haired Fairy or even to marry one he had no chance.
Ginger became very sad, as none of the Fairies wanted to get engaged or go with a ginger headed Fairy. One day Ginger came to me and told me about none of the fairy girls wanting him. Could I help him? I gave the matter a lot of thought and told him that I could help him but that once every month he must come to me to have his ginger hair dyed. I had two offers for him he could either have blond hair or black hair. His choice was for black hair and he would willingly come once a month to have his head dyed. All went well I bought at the local chemists a hair dyer and after washing the ginger hair well with a shampoo I applied the black dye according to the instructions written on the box that the dye came in.
All went well and after combing his hair I went with him into Fairyland. Now many a fairy girl looked at my black haired ginger. He is now very popular and can take his pick of the Fairy Girls. He just could not make up his mind and on his next appointment to have his hair dyed he asked me what he should do about the Fairy Girls he liked so many but could only take one for a wife. Who should he choose? Here again my answer was what I would have told any young man. Listen to your heart. When the right girl comes along you will know. This is the Girl that you will marry. As for your Black hair I personally would leave off with the dyeing and let my hair go back to its normal colour. It is not a good thing to marry under false pretences.
Ginger has let his hair grow back into its original ginger colour. Later I met him in the clearance with a very pretty Fairy Girl. He introduced me and told me that they were to be married n a months time and would I come to the wedding. I was delighted at his good news and accepted the invitation. The marriage was a great success and a year later his bride or I should say his wife gave birth to twins. One twin was black haired as the mother and the other as ginger as his father. In about a hundred years I am sure that there will be as many ginger haired Fairies around as there is blond and brunette. Bern
