The Clearing.
Once again my feet and legs took me to the clearing where the old Oak tree stood. I must admit I have sadly neglected my friends the little people, the Fairies, the Imps, the Trolls, and above all the Leprechauns. I could not lie to the little people but I had to go abroad for a while. My house and all its contents has been for years under the protection of Her Majesty Queen Feeanna, Queen of all the Fairies.
I made myself comfortable on the roots of the old Oak tree. The Wise Old Owl welcomed me and gave me a summary of all that had happened while I was away. Twice Her Majesty had sent all of the Trolls back to Scandinavian for their silly escapades. Once she, Her Majesty had to reprimand the Fairies for the shoddy work they had done while colouring the flowers. The Imps were sent to a new school that Her Majesty had, had built to teach the Imps how to behave and not to make such a nuisance of themselves.
The Wise Old Owl flew back to her nest and I closed my eyes to have a little nap. Something awoke me and as I opened my eyes I saw toad stools. The Fairies had grown toadstools forming the words (Welcome Home Mr. Shaw) Now this was indeed a great pleasure that my friends the Fairies had grown for me. I had restocked my pantry and invited the Fairies and those that were present of the little people.Back to my home. Soon all were eating of my ginger biscuits and drinking the sweet lemonade that I had stocked in my Pantry. Plates of Fairy cakes were floating through the air and for me a Golden Goblet with delicious Elderberry wine. A bright blue flash and a light wisp of smoke and Her Majesty Queen Feeanna, Queen of all the Fairies dressed in a white robe covered in embroidered wild flowers. Delicately sewn, I saw daisies, even dandelions and the lovely tiny violets. This dress would have made the human ladies, envious and I am sure if anyone had seen this dress they would have tried their hands at embroidering a dress as like it as possible.
I looked at the old Cuckoo clock on th wall of my kitchen and heard the echo of all the Fairies and Her Majesty with the other of the little people as they said their goodbyes. I was now alone in my house on the heath at Dartford in Kent. Alone but very happy that Her Majesty and the little folk had spent the afternoon and evening with me. I had nothing to clear away or to wash up. A wave of Her Majesties golden magic wand had seen to that. I locked the front and the back door and went up to my bed. My dreams were of Fairies and of Her Majesty sewing small wild flowers on a golden robe. In the morning I got up from my bed and went down stairs and there on my kitchen table was a handkerchief white and embroidered with wild flowers was this I asked myself a present from Her Majesty a welcoming present for me the scribbler Bern.
