Grannies Small Black Box.

Gran was a lovely old dear. Loved by all that knew her. She always had a few words of praise for everyone that she met. I have never heard her grumble in all of the years that I knew her.

I think that I was Grans favourite when we were alone she would show me her small black box. This my boy will one day be yours. Look after it and make sure that nothing bad ever happens to it and it will serve you well all through the years as it has served me, Remember just look after it.

Gran’s black box was a mystery for all of the family, all knew that the black box of Grans would one day belong to me and all were hoping that I would let them in on the secret of the black box. I had no intention of telling anyone what was in the box, If Gran could keep a secret all of those years then it was up to me to keep the secret for at least the rest of my life.

The day came when Gran passed away, the whole family were in distress to loose such a lovely person like our Gran, was a hard blow to all of the Family. One evening we were all together in the large living room. On the dining table on a silk cushion was the black box with its secret that had been kept so long. My Father took the box and handed it to me. I thanked him and went up to my bedroom. I had a loose floorboard under my bed that no one knew about. My black box disappeared under my bedroom floor. And there it will stay until I too leave this world. I will watch all of the children and my own. Naturally I will have my favourites but the black box will go to the one that brings no disgrace to the family. The one that does all he or she can to keep the family intact and happy. This is what I think that Gran would have wanted, and that is how it will be.

If you too have such a thing in your Family do not be so keen as to know what the secret is many of the Family will get on your nerves trying to find out Grans secret. Let them try just make sure if it comes to you find a good hiding place believe me the Family will do anything to get the secret from you most think that Gran or her Parents left a large sum of money somewhere. All are after that money. But if I know Gran as I think I do it is certainly not wealth in the terms of riches but some piece of good advice to keep the family together in love and friendship.

Personally I do not believe there is a secret tied to the black box, it is probably empty and that will be good so Bern.
