Fairies At The Circus.
A circus has come to my hometown.
My fairies all want to see a funny clown.
So off to the circus in my old car,
Just down the road not very far.
The fairies were surprised by the size of the tent,
And at all the people that to the circus went.
The highest point of the flying trapeze,
One of the leprechauns had to sneeze.
One of the artists fell into the net,
My fairies are all happily placing a bet.
Who would be the next artist to fall?
Great fun was had by one and all.
Horses appeared in the menagerie,
Beautiful animals as all could see.
Then on came some clowns with painted faces,
One had baggy trousers that he held up with braces.
They threw water at each other all were wet.
It was the funniest thing that we had seen yet.
Monkeys came on they performed quite well,
Girls in short dresses had peanuts to sell.
My fairies I bought ice cream to eat.
For them this was a wonderful treat.
When the show ended and we all went to my house,
The fairies played circus with the family mouse.
My kitchen is all wet needless to say,
The fairies with water just had to play.
Then I told them all to say to each other goodnight,
They went to bed without a murmur much to my delight.
Now all is real quiet in this my old house,
The fairies are happy and so is family mouse.
Me well I was glad to get into my bed,
Too many things were going round in my head.
When the circus next comes to town,
I will wear my old suit the one coloured brown.
It is old and it does not matter if it gets wet,
The circus was the best show that we had seen as of yet.
