The warm tropical rain started as a spitter
but soon became a heavy downpour.
It was unusual and unexpected.
Everybody headed for cover.
I found myself staring at a very
bright window in the Safari Shopping centre,
but I made the fatal mistake of looking
for more than a minute.
The Aisian shop keeper seemed
to appear out of nowhere at my side.
His mellow voice soothing,
his body language
almost hypnotic,
hands and head
seemed to dance,
those staring eyes
that tone.
"Come inside,
come inside
much cheapness."
It was too late.
He was a giant snake
entrancing me,
poor me,
I was no mongoose.
I was caught.
A week later the watch broke.
