I slide along these
slippery rocks,
feeling with each booted foot
for the path,
possibly,
through these
low hanging limbs,
each beckoning,
taunting...
and the soft, pungent earth
beckons me to rest
only for a moment,
no more;
all the while,
I watch
for the spiders,
who wait
amid the Spanish moss,
and for cottonmouths,
coiled,
waiting to strike,
as dapples
of sunlight dazzle,
while the moon
waits so far way.
:)
where do I start? with my percieved allegory for life, or with my projection of the perfect lover onto the moon? or with my classical "Beavis I adore you" comment?

Nice one Dear Beavis :)
The moon waits
For the sunset
Sun smiles silent
Only He knows
What they get
Alas unwelcome rain
The long wait in vain

My two dreads, and the world will end when the sun and the moon collide - Enjoyed this walk with the Beav. Sounded like one of my days in the dorm at college. - Lady A

thank you Lady A! Been flashing back for inspiration lately. (And the sun & moon always collide, flinging fragments in every direction, sometimes to coalescence, sometimes to freeze in that cold vacuum; or one slips below the horizon before the other. Such is life and love ;-)
