I think I was born
a few years too late
to really appreciate
Jim Morrison's poetry
without the Doors,
or Bob Dylan's songs
with the volume above 0.

Good Poem

Short but says much. I like those kind of poems.

Thanks!

Me too! I like poems that say a lot into a small space. I try to distill everything down so that it's as high a proof as I can manage, but still smooth enough to sip. ;-)

This is beautiful. (I'm a hippie at heart)

not to get off subject, but my fav Dylan line:

I wish that for just one time you could stand inside my shoes
And just for that one moment I could be you
Yes, I wish that for just one time you could stand inside my shoes
You'd know what a drag it is to see you

Thanks Bpink!

Thanks Bpink! (I suspected that hippie heart ;-) Dylan has some AMAZING lyrics! ;-)

My son calls me a hippie even

My son calls me a hippie even though I was a very young during the 60’s, but I would've been a hippie…my sister’s call me a gypsy, but mainly because of me taste in décor.

LMAO!

Me too! Too young to really be one, but I picked up the nickname Hippie at work early and still have it, even though most of the people I work with now would have to google it ;-)

Doors, Dylan and chemicals

As I write, listening to Doors, "Love Me Two Time:.... "one time for tomorrow and one just for today.." perhaps chemicals are needed but... then it hit me hard to get poetry, music, or lyric with the volume at "0" and also hit me that yes, more chemicals are needed!!! But beavis, you were born too late, this can be remedied of course with the simple act of volume up to 10... ( no chemicals needed)

Lol!

Thanks Redzone! Volume 10 is my normal setting!!! Except for for one's that require 11 ;-)

Delightful Creature

I love song lyrics, got my start as a poet by singing, learning all the words. Octagenerians are fiesty poets, but you are never too old to turn the volume up. I loved the bit about "0" volume. Lyrics? Love 'em! Fine piece & yeah, it probably is a chemical thing - Lady A "A few years TOO late"

Lol!

Thanks Lady A! You are indeed a feisty poet and I admire you for that and your wisdom!
