Some are cleanly severed by the blow,
but for those
who stubbornly cling on
with the hope of healing,
amputation is the only option
for things now so
feeble and useless.

I have to say, I’m not
I have to say, I’m not (can’t) read as much into this as SSmoothie did and I won’t try to, but I can say that it’s an emotional read for anyone who’s ever had a relationship with someone who wasn’t in it for the same reasons….almost one side.
I say, as hard as it might be, pull off the bandage in one swift rip….it hurts like hell, but it won’t last as long as trying to pull it off inch by inch.
It was both sad and Lovely.

Ode To A Boulder
...of disguised selfishness. I am ensorcselled by this line. The entire poem pivots on it magically...the lady in question is distracted (loving elsewhere?), the male is cast into the realm of dismemberment, also a poingnant display of man pain...well done, well said, and well, I guess you got all the emotions covered with each whack!
