IF I AM HEARING CLEARLY
If I am hearing clearly,
then You are saying to me,
“Go for it, for the time has come,”
but I can’t help but wonder,
if I may be to dumb
to truly understand the silent words
spoken so softly from Your heart to mine.
The shadows of birds
fly along the ground, directly under
the flight path of the very birds casting them.
But, am I so aligned with the will
of the One who has cast and molded me
that I am following as closely
as the shadows cast by mere birds
follow their masters?
Am I following You close enough to
truly know Thy will?
Are we as inseparable as a bird and its shadow?
Lord, I truly want to know
Thy will for me, now.
If I am hearing clearly,
then You are saying to me,
“Go for it, for the time has come,”
Yet, I am still unsure if I truly understand
the silent words You are speaking to my heart.
Lord, please give me a sign
so that I will know, not only in part,
but truly know, to completely understand
Thy will for me.
