Beneath a starless sky, overcome by darkness
guilt, in my heart, does lie. Overcome by darkness.
I am ashamed of myself, of my actions.
Oh, that I could draw nigh. Overcome my darkness.
My Lord, if only I could approach You again.
In repentance, I cry: “Overcome by darkness.”
You hear my pain, You see my sorrow. You respond.
You chase my guilt goodbye, overcome my darkness.
My Lord My Lord, now I can humbly approach You.
For You indeed, not I, overcame my darkness.
