The Same Moon

We were both looking at the moon

You said it is brighter tonight

You sat there on the roof top

to get a better glimpse of me

While I traced the tree line

            and in my line of sight I saw you too

            silhouetted by the city lights

            in the background

Your voice was soothing

Your laugh – captivating

You said you have missed mine

           and that I still sounded the same

It's amazing how this little talk

           has brought back the world

But there was pain in the longing

          that did not allow me to touch you

Although we were both staring at the same moon

          My clock says 4:00 am and yours - 8:00 pm 

          And in between us was the Pacific.
