Think... think... you have to think.
Escaping now is your only chance.
There won't be another.
Too much has happened to stay.
Just pack what you can carry easily.
Be smart.
Open the door and run.
Don't look back.
So much easier said than done.
Previous attempts to get away have failed.
What makes you think this one will be any different?
You'll leave, and he'll apologize.
He'll beg of your forgiveness, and you'll give it.
You'll be stuck, once again, in his grasp.
The day's light holds your only freedom.
At night, you're all his.
Will you run?
Will you seek shelter?
Help?
He'll be home shortly.
There isn't much time.
You sit and stare at the wall, trying to make it easier.
You ask yourself, "Do you love him?"
The real question you need to ask isn't coming.
The question being, "You've been with this man for so long, do you know what love beyond him is?"
Oh, lovely.
The door flies open, and slams shut.
Your eyes close and flicker open.
Too late for tonight's escape.
He yells for you, and you obediently crawl to him.
For, you know not how to decline his requests.
He controls you with fear.
Your weakness is his strength.
His hands force a path all over you.
Cringing as his hot breath stings your eyes.
Too many memories to forget to even consider staying.
He's drunk... and he's angry.
Not a great combination.
You can feel the bruises forming already.
His fingers are like vicegrips on your arms.
His eyes pierce into you... so intimidating.
You fall into the wall for balance as he throws you away.
He gaits towards you with purpose in each step.
You beg, you scream, you cry.
You plead for him to stop while on your knees.
He says that you bring it on yourself.
He says that you made him mad.
He says that he's only punishing you because you deserve it.
Is it true?
No, it's not.
But you don't know that.
So much suffering over the years.
His words have come so far that you begin to believe it.
You can taste the blood in your mouth as he slams his fist, busting your lip.
"Stupid whore!" he shouts. "You're worthless!"
"Please..." you choke out through his grimy hands around throat.
You get dizzy.
His face starts spinning... and crack!
Everything goes black, and your whole body goes limp.
You shouldn't have waited.
You shouldn't have let him get away with it.
Why didn't you go for help from day one?
Why?
No explanations... no facial expressions.
Nothing.
Silence.
Maybe in another life time.
