Over And Over

So this is what over feels like I should know by now

It has happen so many times before

But it feels different this time

Somehow

You took my blinders off so I can see

Now I know the mistakes I made

You congealed my

Re-al-i-ty

Once again, I let my heart rule

Once again, love defeated me

Once again, I am

The Fool

Thought someone who understood me had come along

I thought I’d finally get to be who I want to be

But something went

Horribly wrong

I really thought this time you were the one

I do not blame you for anything at all

For any of the things that

I have done

I am going off with a much harder heart

I will never let anyone in again

I will never again play

That part

I know you think what you said is true

But I know the sequence of events

That led us

To be through

Don’t be upset or blue

It’s time for me to leave my nest

This is just something that

I have to do

It is time for me to take a stride over the line

To invest my life into this world

Leave what I always thought was real

Behind

Although I will be missing you

And always wish I were still there

I no longer believe the opposite
