and you won't get the best of me

not now

and not ever



and now it's all different

and i'm soaring over

all the heartache

and i can see others



pulling themselves apart

for people they think they need

ripping their lives to shreds

without knowing, or

knowing all well

and not seeing what they're losing



so lost and alone and scared



and it's all right to be lost

you will find your way



and you will always be alone

but it's how you're born into

and how you'll leave this world



and it's all right to be scared

because there is so much

to be so terribly afraid of



but it's exhilarating and wonderful
