Letting Go

Triumphant, you stand
How your second in command
Listens closely to your tales
You begin to tip the scales
Memories become like grains of sand.

Build your image as you choose
It is the others who now loose
Create your will, shape the view
It is finally about you
You're seeing red, no more blues.

The second, you claim as first
Suffers from each of all our worst
Find your scape goat as you may
You may rule another day
But your dream shall one day burst.

Own it all for it is true
The love received is from more than you
Mistakes made are ours
Regrets and guilt create deep scars
Prove your love by what you do.

Pride aside, be secure
It takes selflessness to be mature
Support not control
Is the way to guide a soul
Lift and love; make faith be sure.

We are the keepers so be wise
To do our best in the Lord's eyes
Build him up and make him strong
Teach forgiveness where there is wrong
and remember...

Cut never, will you, the ties...
of a mother's love, with or without your web of lies.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Rough draft via pure emotion.
My son has decide to live with his dad full time after 16 years. This poem is to his dad. I am trying to let go and have faith. I pray and trust that he will be okay. Dear God, please let his father always act in the best interest of our son. Amen.

Very well written. You can

Very well written. You can feel the emotion behind your words very well. I can only hope my words give off the same effect in my work. Keep it up.
